Comprehensive Reform of Upper Secondary Education: A View from the Virtual Advisor

Abstract

This paper describes perceptions of the virtual adviser on the Reforma Integral de la Educación Media Superior (RIEMS) and its connection with teaching. Ten advisers from the Bachillerato General por Áreas Interdisciplinarias (BGAI), who have completed the Diplomado de Competencias Docentes en el Nivel Media Superior (Profordems), conducted the study. For data collection discussion topics were designed, which guided the open interviews. Advisors’ perceptions view the Comprehensive Reform of Upper Secondary Education as a reference system and a management process, sharing a narrative of roles they assume by incorporating elements of the model and the difficulties they are facing in their practice virtual advisory practice.
