Academic Paper Presentation: from .doc to .html • Jackeline Bucio

Abstract

This essay includes reflections on how to present academic papers for areas such as Literature, in the light of the learning theory of connectivism. It proposes that presenting essays in .html format, as opposed to the now predominant .doc, can be beneficial in aspects such as originality, use and learning permanence. Working in this way it’s possible to generate meaningful and permanent learning, and it’s also possible to achieve active participation by students towards improving contents that are available online. By adopting this approach the notion of closed-local academic work is transformed into open-public; the advantages this brings are analyzed in this text.
