Global and Complex Methods in Distance Education. One Way to Promote Deep and Self-Managed Learning

Abstract

Student work in a distance modality requires appropriate planning and mediation to allow transit through educational schemes that are age-appropriate and attract participant’s interest. In general, adults with work and family obligations do not have enough time to invest in academic activities, which are sometimes carried out without considering previous planning, reading, execution and monitoring of the work processes. Therefore, a space to design learning environments and educational strategies is required, that encourages student interest while promoting deep and transformative learning, based on the development of self-management capacity. We propose the use of global and complex methods, whose methodology and educational intentions are consistent with what is herein intended.
