The B@UNAM experience; teaching  immigrants Mónica Zuazua

Abstract

This work shares some of the lessons generated from the delivery of the UNAM Distance High School – B@UNAM – to Spanish speakers who live abroad. It intends to show the characteristics, problems, motivations and expectations of this community and the challenges implied in offering the attention, highlighting the importance for Mexican public high schools to offer alternatives. This task is only possible through a collective work, involving different institutions that promote the visibility and prestige of the modality in order to achieve greater coverage and attention to educational backwardness in this level.

Keywords: Distance education, High School, attention, migrants, institutional interaction.
