This paper aims to present the experience as a consultant within the Bachillerato Virtual of the Sistema de Universidad Virtual of Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo. A review of malpractices of written communication of students attending Computer Science I and Applied Statistics of the 2009 curriculum is proposed. Competencies and attributes related to communication skills students should have are mentioned, as well as features of written language. Finally, examples of deficiencies and actions to correct them are given.
