The High School Teacher Facing the Virtual Mode

Abstract

This paper is the result of a research conducted to identify and analyze how high school teachers at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) perceive the virtual modality. The research was based on the Theory of Social Representations (SR), building on an interpretive framework and establishing a methodical route.

I found that the common vision that teachers have on SR’s of virtual modality, includes the idea that this is an educational option for those who can’t pursue their studies in the in-person modality, thus becoming a good, relevant and feasible second alternative, although with a lower educational quality and therefore less prestige.
