Advantages of its Use in Distance Education

Abstract

The experience resulting from working with several generations of the university’s baccalaureate in its distance modality, at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM), through the subject Development of human potential, has led to the search, choosing and testing of instruments to support efforts to follow-up on the student’s learning process, that allow an approach on how to carry out the various activities, their degree of difficulty, the sequence following their processing and, most importantly, the recognition of the learning achieved, all from a reflective exercise, recovered from the student’s journal.

This action fulfills a double purpose: it allows the student to perform a metacognitive exercise to review and narrate its process and the results achieved from it; and on the other hand, the teacher lavishes valuable information for the review and, where appropriate, adequacy of the teaching proposal.
