Abstract

Technological progress during the twentieth century has created a gap in traditional education and some obstacles in distance education, especially in the area of second language learning, specifically, in English. In order to solve this situation, the Bachillerato Tecnológico Bivalente a Distancia (BTBD) of the IPN created the Real Situation (RS). It is a process of teaching and learning that includes a teaching strategy as well as an educational tool. They foster self-learning and the direct application of that language while using tools offered by TIC’s.
