We do a summary of the commitments made by Bachillerato a Distancia from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (B@UNAM), in the Special Issue. We contrasted those commitments with the program’s development, its achievements and challenges. On March 7, 2007, the UNAM’s University Council had recently approved B@UNAM which was presented as an innovative program which was to be constantly updated, include qualified teachers, and to provide educational services to Mexicans living abroad and students within the country through agreements with government or educational institutions, both public and private. The article shows the progress and compliance featured in virtually every area
