Distance Baccalaureate, a Viable and Quality Option to Face the Challenges of High School Education in Mexico

Abstract

With an overview of the dimensions of the educational task at high school level in Mexico in terms of coverage as a starting point, as well as the main actions taken to its attention by the federal government of this country, we outline the Distance and Public Baccalaureate Network to recognize in this modality an effective alternative to respond to the current demand and the lag in the educational level of reference. It also shows some of the main achievements of this network that has the strength of putting together the efforts of eight higher education institutions in pursuit of distance baccalaureate.
