Abstract

Information literacy is a necessary competence for use and management of services that the Information Unit provides, both physical and virtual in the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) baccalaureates. This empowers students in all areas in their lives, in order to seek, evaluate, use and create effective information in order to achieve personal, social, occupational and educational goals. This is achieved through user training for information development skills appropriate for a use of resources, both documentary and technological, where information fulfills its role in the academic and personal training of the users. In turn, it develops autonomy and critical thinking in high schools, by using the physical and electronic archive of a school library, as well as information on various electronic sources by evaluating information, in search of its own, allowing its ethical and responsible use.
